SHIKARPUR, May 15: The 61st death anniversary of prominent politician and leader Shaheed Allah Bux Soomro was observed by the Jeay Sindh Mahaz (Junejo) at Chak town on Friday night.

In his presidential address, Mahaz chief Abdul Khaliq Junejo, while paying tribute to Shaheed Soomro, said that he rendered political and social services without discrimination to upgrade the socio-economic life of the common man and restore the fundamental rights of the people of Sindh.

But some selfish and opportunist politicians opposed his struggle and had him martyred to please the British rulers and also to come into power, he added.

Vowing to continue the mission of the late Soomro, Mr Junejo called upon the people of Sindh to unite on a single platform and launch a national movement for provincial autonomy and restoration of their basic rights.

Other leaders also spoke on the occasion.
