CHISHTIAN, May 15: Two dacoits were killed allegedly by the firing of their accomplice at Chak 6 Gajyani, some 20 kms from here, on Friday.

Police said that Chaudhry, Gulzari and Shehbazi had snatched cash from Shabbir a few days back. Shabbir recognized the accused and informed the elite of the area about the incident.

Harbouring a grudge, the dacoits kidnapped Shabbir and kept him at a local farm. Chaudhry and Shehbazi wanted to kill Shabbir but Gulzari opposed the plan. This resulted in scuffle among the three and Chaudhry opened indiscriminate firing, killing Gulzari and Shehbazi on the spot.

Shabbir managed to flee and informed the police who registered the case against Chaudhry.

Chishtian city police Inspector Mian Maqbool Hussain told newsmen on Saturday that the accused were wanted in a number of criminal cases, including murder, robbery and dacoity.

The police have sent the bodies for autopsy.-APP
