TOBA TEK SINGH, May 14: A grocer allegedly killed on Friday morning four members of his family in Chak 295-GB Barianwala. Police said Noor Din Jat suspected that his wife had illicit relations with a man of the same village. They used to quarrel over the issue and his children always stood by their mother. So he decided to kill them.

He gave them drugged beverage as a result of which they fell unconscious. He beheaded his wife Zubaida, 50, daughters Naseem Akhtar, 21, and Nazia Perveen, 17, and son Sajid Ali, 15, with the help of a chopper and an axe early in the morning.

After killing them, he went to the house of his sister in same village and apprised her of the incident. He asked for breakfast and ate to the content of his heart. In the meantime, villagers gathered there who overpowered and handed him over to Saddar police.

His 19-year-old son Younis survived as he was on duty in a powerloom. Meanwhile, the bodies were handed over to the family after autopsy.

CASE REGISTERED: Saddar police registered on Friday a case on the order of a sessions court against Afzal of Chak 387-JB on the charge of killing his wife.

According to police, Afzal and Zulfiqar were married under the custom of exchange (watta satta) marriage. Zulfiqar had divorced his wife who was the sister of accused Afzal. Afzal killed his wife to take revenge.

KIDNAP: Three people of Lahore allegedly killed a person of Toba Tek Singh. According to the FIR registered on Friday by Rajana police on the complaint of Sharif Gadhi of Chak 183-GB, he had obtained loan from Siddiq, Shafiq and Ramzan and they developed a dispute over the amount.

The accused called his younger brother Afzal to Lahore for negotiation and killed him.
