LAHORE, May 8: Hamza Shahbaz, son of the former Punjab chief minister, says that his father is returning home with the commitment to serve his countrymen, not to wage a war against anyone.

He made this statement while talking to reporters after attending the death anniversary of Mufti Abdul Ghani, father of Farrukh Shah, a spokesman for the exiled PML-N president.

Hamza said his father had burnt all boats, dedicated himself to service of the country and was ready to face all cases against him.

He said his father's decision to leave comforts of London and face unpredictable consequences in his country was hard for the rulers to believe. He said it was for this reason that everybody at the top was claiming that Mian Shahbaz would not come.

Meanwhile, PML-N leaders said at a news conference on Saturday that they would not create a law and order situation on May 11 and the government should also not take any step to provoke the party supporters.

Khwaja Saad Rafiq and Zaeem Qadri said that PML-N workers would reach the Lahore airport and the police should not stop them.
