LAHORE, April 17: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is likely to also advertise the post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) along with various other positions shortly.

The PCB's plan to make changes in the board and fill the post through advertising in the newspapers was put on hold because of the hectic schedule of the Pakistan-India series.

During this period the PCB chairman had engaged two of his old buddies as consultants on lucrative packages.

The chief executive is one of the key posts in the cricket board and the PCB wishes to get a full-time/professional official instead of appointing anyone on an honorary basis like Ramiz Raja, the current CEO.

Although, Ramiz is reportedly working in the PCB in an "honorary" capacity, yet he is enjoying lavish privileges such as a 1300cc car, free petrol, telephone bills and TA/DA when travelling in Pakistan or abroad.

The PCB is of the view that a man working in an "honorary" capacity could not do justice to his post, therefore, a paidfull-timer will be more suitable to serve the interest of the board.

There are hundreds of people who are ready to work withthe PCB on "honorary" basis even at lower cadre posts.

Ramiz is forced to do this job on an "honorary" basis because he is earning money as a TV commentator and plus he is a full-time employee of the Allied Bank of Pakistan Limited (ABL).

In addition, Ramiz is enjoying the best of both worlds since hehas also appeared in TV commercials, something unheard of.
