KARACHI, April 17: Sindh Chief Minister Sardar Ali Mohammad Mahar on Saturday presided over a joint meeting of provincial ministers, advisors, MNAs, MPAs, District Nazims and notables and approved development schemes worth Rs50 million for Sukkur, Shikarpur , Larkana, Thatta and Dadu districts.

Mr Mahar also discussed law and order situation in the meeting held at the chief minister house.

Assuring that schemes for other districts would soon be approved, the chief minister said that industrial estates at Karachi, Hyderabad and Nooriabad were being expanded while steps were also being taken to promote small industries to create maximum job opportunities.

The irrigation system in Sindh was being revamped and a huge amount of Rs220 million was being spent on such projects in Thatta district alone, he added.

Mr Mahar asked the ministers and advisors to hold open meetings in their respective constituencies and resolve the problems of the people.

Provincial ministers Irfanullah Marwat, Usman Malkani, Manzoor Panhwar, Dr Saeeda Malik, Arif Mustafa Jatoi, deputy speaker Rahila Tiwana, advisors Aftab Shaikh, Aijaz Shah Sheerazi, Dr. Karim Mahar, MPAs Farida Baloch, Syed Noor Mohammad Shah, Dr. Sohrab Sarki, Mohammad Ali Malkani, Farhad Jatoi, Banu Saghir, Zulfiqar Kumario and others attended the meeting.-PPI
