GUJRANWALA, April 10: The Anti-Terrorism Court No 1 on Saturday accepted the pre-arrest bails of former Gujranwala DIG, Gujrat DPO, former Sialkot DPO, an Elite Force SI and 11 constables in the Sialkot jail case.

The judge also directed them to deposit surety bonds of Rs0.5 million each.

The court rejected the pre-arrest bail of former Zafarwal (Narowal) SHO Zulfiqar Virk, the main accused, and ordered the police to sent him to jail. Later, the police arrested him from court room.

Judge Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah announced the judgment after listening to the arguments of both parties for about two-and-a-half-hours. All the accused were present in the court.

The court gave more time to investigating agencies for the completion of the challan against accused inspector Zulfiqar Ali Virk and adjourned proceedings till April 19.
