KHAIRPUR, April 10: The Ranipur police on Saturday arrested some 10 people on charges of blocking the National Highway during a protest sit-in at the Hingorja bus stand some two days back.

The complainant, in charge Hingorja police, stated in the FIR that he had gone to the spot and urged the protesters to open the highway but they refused.

The police identified them as Bahadur, Ashiq, Ghulam Qadir, Sher Mohammad, Mureed, Sahub, Mushtaq, Inayat and Nazar Mohammad Shanbhani.

ELECTROCUTED: A man, Yousuf Mangnejo, was electrocuted on Friday night in Dost Mohammad Mangnejo village when he was operating an electric motor pump at his banana orchard.

SUICIDE: A boy, Moharram Shar, 13, committed suicide by taking poison due to some domestic problems on Friday in Khushi Mohammad Shar village, Faiz Ganj taluka.

SUICIDE ATTEMPT: A youth, Ashiq Hussain, 28, attempted to commit suicide by taking poison on Friday in Khuri village Thari Mirwah taluka.

He was taken to a local hospital where his life was saved.

BOOKED: Complainant Hidayatullah on Saturday registered a case at the Gambat police station under section 302, 201 and 34 PPC against Ghulam Mustafa and two others for killing Azizullah Ujjan, the father of Rozina Ujjan.

Ms Ujjan, a school teacher, has taken shelter in Karachi after alleged as Kari by a Jirga.
