Canal breach damages houses

SADIQABAD, June 1: Several houses were damaged when some localities between Shahbazpur and Nawankot were inundated following eruption of a breach in the Ahmad distributary on Friday.

Reports said the breach was developed at the distributary near Shahbazpur at 12 noon. Consequently, several houses were damaged. At least 650 acres were inundated in the breach.

The irrigation department plugged the breach after a couple of hours.
