ISLAMABAD, April 2: Everything went according to the script on Friday with Pakistan and India setting up what promises to be an epic volleyball final on Saturday.

India strolled past Sri Lanka 25-14, 25-18, 25-19 in the first semifinal after being on court for just over an hour while Pakistan knocked out Bangladesh also in straight sets winning 25-14, 25-19, 25-18.

Pakistan rode to on the good work of Muhammad Tufail, Irfan Nawaz and Kashif to victory.

Secretary of the Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) Mohammad Afzal said that the final against India, who are the defending champions, would be a tough contest.

The final between the two sides revives memories of the 1989 SAF Games decider at the same venue when Pakistan claimed gold after fighting back from the dead.

Results (semi-finals): India bt Sri Lanka 25-14, 25-18, 25-19; Pakistan bt Bangladesh 25-14, 25-19, 25-18.
