ISLAMABAD, March 30: Heads of the five factions of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML) and Sindh Democratic Alliance (SDA) agreed upon a formula for PML unification and signed an accord here on Tuesday.

The accord was signed at the residence of PML-Q secretary-general Salim Saifullah Khan after a meeting, presided over by Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, here on Tuesday.

A statement issued by the PML-Q chief stated that the meeting had unanimously resolved to follow the formula of senator S.M. Zafar for PML and SDA unification.

Under the formula, the participants had authorized Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain to decide a date for the general council meeting for the finalization of the party's constitution. The party office-bearers would also be elected during the joint general council meeting in accordance with the formula.
