HYDERABAD, March 27: The local chapter of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal held a protest demonstration at the Haider Chowk here on Friday against the Wana operation and Israeli terrorism against Palestinians.

Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Waheed Qureshi, Shaikh Shaukat Ali, Allama Altaf Hussain, Maulana Taj Mohammad Nahiyoon, Qari Kamran Ahmad, Nizamul Haideri and others condemned the Wana operation and the Israeli aggression against people of Palestine.

They said vetoing a resolution against Israel on the killing of Sheikh Yassin in the United Nations Security Council by the US had proved the super power was the greatest terrorist state.

They said the silence of President Gen Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali on the martyrdom of the Hamas founder had again proved they were playing in the hands of the US.

They said the Wana operation was also being conducted under the US pressure and in exchange for dollars, the Pakistan Army was being used to shed blood of the Muslims.

The rally adopted several resolutions, demanding an end the operation in Wana and calling upon the UN to take notice of terrorism against Muslims.
