SRINAGAR, Feb 7: Suspected Mujahideen on Saturday killed eight people, including a senior commander of a pro-India militia, in different attacks in occupied Kashmir, police said.

Police said suspected Mujahideen hurled a grenade at an army patrol, which went off in a crowd of civilians in Shopian.

At least four soldiers and 26 bystanders were injured. Later, two of the civilians died in a hospital and six more were in serious condition, police said.

In Anantnag, Mujahideen shot dead Zahoor Baba, a senior commander of the Ikhwan, a militia formed by rebel turncoats to help Indian troops, police said.

Suspected Mujahideen also killed two civilians at Thanamadi town in the Rajouri district, while three people were killed in other attacks in the state.-AFP
