KARACHI, Jan 31: An Anti-Terrorism Court here on Saturday issued non-bailable warrants for the arrest of Furrukh Siddiqui in a kidnapping for ransom case.

The NBW against the accused was issued by the court as the investigation officer of the case stated that the absconding accused could not be arrested by police.

Judge Arshad Noor Khan of the ATC was hearing the case.

The accused are charged with kidnapping Adnan Ali Hashmi in the North Nazimabad area on Dec 12, 2003. Police arrested Mubeen Ahmed Khan on Dec 27. Furrukh Siddiqui was declared as absconder in this case.

According to the prosecution, the accused had released the victim after receiving Rs350,000 in ransom from his family.

The court after the investigation officer's report adjourned the matter for Feb 6 for next hearing. Special Public Prosecutor Naimat Ali Randhawa is representing the state. - PPI
