PESHAWAR, Jan 15: The NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani has convened a meeting on Jan 16 to decide about tabling the Hasba bill for its passing in the NWFP Assembly, an official statement said here on Wednesday.

"... It is hoped that, like the Shariat Bill, the Hasba Act will also be (approved by) the Provincial Assembly with consensus", the statement quoted the NWFP chief minister as saying.

He was talking to a 50-member delegation of the Jamiat Ulema- i-Islam from the Dir district here.

NWFP Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah has already referred to bill to the Council of Islamic Ideology under Article 229 of the Constitution for advice.
