HYDERABAD, Jan 10: The Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, on Friday directed the Dadu investigation police to release two vehicles of a petitioner which they had seized for not having number plates.

The order was passed after Sindh additional advocate general Masood A. Noorani conceded before the court that there was no other claimant of the vehicles and no FIR relating to the theft of the vehicles, a jeep and a motorcycle, was registered at any other police station.

The court ordered that two sureties of Rs100,000 and Rs25,000 should be furnished for the jeep and the motorcycle respectively.

The DPO, investigation, Tipu Sultan, in his statement said the Jamshoro investigation police had found the jeep without number plate near the Gulshan-i-Shahbaz link road and driver Kanbhoo Khan could not produce documents of the vehicle. He said the jeep was seized as suspected stolen property.

He said the driver was released after Badal Khan Palari stood surety for him.

He said the motorcycle without number plate was secured from Qadir Bux and Ali Dino in RBB Colony, Jamshoro, as they could not produce documents.

The DPO denied that the petitioner, Kanbhoo Khan, was wrongfully detained.

The in charge, investigation police, Pathan Kaka, also denied having arrested the petitioner.

The petitioner produced original registration books of both the vehicles before the court.

In his rejoinder, he denied that he was having vehicles without number plates and said he was picked up from his residence in Thana Bulla Khan.

He said he did not know Badal Palari and added that documents of his release were manipulated.

He said the police had changed chassis and engine numbers of his vehicles.
