BADIN, Jan 10: The police arrested a notorious dacoit and nine of his accomplices during a raid conducted in a village about 15km from here on Friday.

On spotting the raiding party, the dacoits opened fire which was returned by the police as a result of which two officers, Mohammad Qasim and Ashraf, were injured and shifted to the Badin Civil Hospital.

However, the police arrested Umrani and his nine accomplices - Allah Juriyo, Darhoo, Arib, Allah Detho, Mir Mohammad, Saeedo, Barkat, Jalal and Ali Nawaz - after a brief encounter and also recovered two rifles, a pistol and ammunition from their possession.

The dacoit was required in 14 cases registered at various police stations of the district.-APP
