TOBA TEK SINGH, Jan 3: A cardiology centre will start working at the district headquarters hospital this month till the establishment of a regular department.

This was announced by District Nazim Chaudhry Muhammad Ashfaq while speaking at a reception hosted for renowned US-based local heart specialist Dr Shaukat Ali at Chak 388-JB, on Saturday.

He said the Punjab government would fund the project pledged by Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi during his visit here.

The Nazim urged Dr Shaukat, who hails from Chak 387-JB, to deliver a lecture to the local DHQ hospital doctors whenever he visits Pakistan next.

Dr Shaukat announced grant of Rs1 million from his pocket for setting up a religious seminary for women at his village. The Nazim honoured the guest by naming the link road to his village as Dr Shaukat Ali Road.

POWER THIEVES: Faisalabad Electric Supply Company team caught 10 electricity thieves on Friday in raids on many villages.

The team detected direct power supply to the residences of 10 people and got cases registered against them with relevant police stations.
