SHEIKHUPURA: Lawyers observe strike

SHEIKHUPURA, Jan 3: Nankana lawyers observed strike against the deteriorated law and order situation on Saturday. They boycotted courts and held demonstration in front of the offices of law enforcing agency.

The lawyers went on strike against the robbing of a dozen of their colleagues by 10 highwaymen near Das Moraba bus stop on Warburton-Nankana road late on Friday night. They reported the matter to the police concerned which have failed to trace the robbers and recover the looted items.

Meanwhile, Nankana Bar Association president Rai Mahmoodul Hasan held a press conference here on Saturday and He condemned police for their poor performance.

He alleged that police were patronizing criminals.

He demanded that the ASP and SHO concerned should be transferred.

He threatened that the lawyers community would continue their protest drive till the arrest of robbers.
