NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, April 23: Chowkidars of the food department took out a rally here on Saturday demanding release of their salaries stopped since the last five months and regularization of services. The chowkidars alongwith their children, led by President of the Food Department Employees Federation Sindh, Younis Rajpar, took out the rally from district food godown, Naushahro Feroze.

After marching on different roads, the rally reached at the local press club.

The godown labourers in Naushahro Feroze also observed a token strike in support of food department employees by joining them. The protesters were raising slogans against high-ups of the department.

Later, the protesters observed a token hunger strike opposite the food godown.

They complained that they have not been paid their salaries since the last five months and their services have not been regularised.

They warned that they would observe hunger strike unto death from April 30 in case their demands were not accepted.
