LANDI KOTAL (Khyber Agency), April 23: The Peshawar-Torkham highway remained closed for nearly four hours on Saturday after hundreds of public transport owners staged a demonstration to protest against a ban on their entry into Peshawar. The Peshawar traffic police in collaboration with the district administration had imposed a few weeks ago a ban on the entry of Peshawar-bound buses coming from Landi Kotal and Jamrud. The Khyber Agency Transporters association has been protesting the ban since then and has held several meetings with officials of the traffic police and the city administration, but to no avail.

On Saturday, more than 300 buses converged at Tidde bazaar in Jamrud and blocked the main road leaving commuters to suffer hardship.
