SIALKOT, April 11: Despite tall official claims of revolutionizing education in the province, for over 2,000 girl students of the Government Girls Higher Secondary School Satrah, Daska, there are only three teachers available. It is learnt that the school —- the only option for the girls from the area seeking ‘higher’ education —- was upgraded about 10 years ago, and since then it has been facing an acute shortage of teaching staff. The area people have expressed concern over the negligence of the district education authorities, for their failure to provide proper educational facilities to the thousands of girl students in surrounding villages.

The students have been suffering great educational loss, as the three teachers available at the school were unable to cater to the academic needs of such a huge number of students.

The area people have urged the Punjab chief minister, District Nazim and DCO to take steps to redeem the situation immediately.
