KARACHI, April 10: The Auqaf department of Sindh has proposed to the government creating a separate force to be deployed for security at the shrines in Sindh. This was stated by the Minister for Auqaf and Religious Affairs, Sardar Manzoor Ali Panhwar, while speaking in a radio programme on Sunday. “The police and other law enforcing agencies are already busy in cities and towns maintaining law and order. After recent incidents of terrorism at shrines, security forces at such sacred places are direly needed,” he said adding,” We have talked to the chief minister in this respect and a plan is under preparation.”

He said that the security staff so deployed would also prove helpful to eradicate the sale and use of drugs at such sites.—PPI
