KRL stay on course for semis

KARACHI, April 8: Khan Research Laboratories (KPT), inspired by fine knocks from Saeed Anwar Jr, Saeed bin Nasir and Mohammad Saleem, scored a seven-wicket victory against Defence Housing Authority (DHA) on Friday to remain in contention for the Patron’s Cup semifinals.

Despite posting a total of 303 for seven in 50 overs, DHA were unable to prevent KRL from reaching their target comfortably with two overs to spare in the Pool ‘B’ game at the Sheikhupura Stadium.

The left-handed Saeed Anwar made 95 off 97 balls with 11 fours and one six as he and Saleem (62 off 68 balls, six fours and one six) started the innings in a blazing fashion with a partnership of 153 in 23 overs.

Saeed bin Nasir completed the job with an unbeaten 74 off 72 balls that included nine fours.
