RAWALPINDI, April 7: Chinese Defence Production Minister Shang Yunchuan called on President General Pervez Musharraf here on Thursday. Talking to the minister, the president underlined close and fraternal relations between China and Pakistan, particularly between the armies of the two countries, and expressed the hope that the visit of Shang Yunchuan would help enhance the ties. He lauded the support the Chinese government extended to Pakistan for the production of JF-17 Fighter Aircraft and Al-Zarrar Tanks.

The Chinese minister thanked the government of Pakistan for the hospitality extended to him and the members of his delegation.

He expressed his resolve for further strengthening the relations between the armed forces of China and Pakistan.

Federal Minister for Defence Production Habibullah Warraich and other senior government officials were also present on the occasion.—APP
