KHAIRPUR, April 7: Employees of the Hesco operation division continued their protests for the second day on Thursday against the executive engineer Hesco, Ranipur, for suspending and transferring 15 employees. They took out a procession from the SDO office to the executive engineer office. They staged a sit-in and observed a token hunger strike for about six hours. They wore black armbands and raised slogans against executive engineer Shams Kakepoto.

Work in Hesco sub-divisions of the district including Luqman, Khairpur, Pir-Jo-Goth, Priyaloi and Setharja, remained suspended.

Union leaders Wali Mohammad Leghari and Abdul Karim Ghanghro demanded that an inquiry should be held into suspension and transfer of the employees.

The manager Hesco on Wednesday suspended and transferred 15 Hesco employees of the Ranipur division and asked them to report to the chief engineer (admin), Wapda House, Lahore.
