QUETTA, April 4: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Mohammad Yousuf has said that tribal disputes obstructed the development process, and urged the conflicting tribes to peacefully settle disputes through tribal traditions and with government assistance. Speaking at a tribal jirga in Sambaza, Zhob district, on Monday, he assured the participants that the government would play its role in resolving a conflict between Sulemankhel and Mandokhel tribes.

He said that the government would take concrete steps to resolve disputes amongst different tribes through peaceful means, adding that tribal conflicts not only affected development process but also caused loss of precious human lives.

He sought cooperation of the tribesmen, saying that without their assistance it would be difficult to implement the government plan for settlement of tribal disputes.
