LAHORE, April 1: Shoaib Akhtar has claimed he was fit for and keen to face Indians in the One-day Internationals.

Talking to journalists after leading the PCB XI in the first-everTwenty20 match played in the country against English county Leicestershire on Friday, Shoaib said that he also bowled with his full speed and felt nothing wrong with his hamstring.

“If the trainer Grant Compton gives me the fitness certificate I would like to go India”, Shoaib said.

Shoaib had been recalled back home during the last Australian tour due to hamstring problem and was not considered for the Test series and the on-going ODIs against India.

Asked if he was missing the high-profile Indian tour Shoaib said. “I always love to play for my country and the same is for the Indian tour”.

“I preferred to tour Australia despite having hamstring as Pakistan team needed me. The hamstring problem aggravated in Australia and I decided not to tour India to regain full fitness.

“But I am happy that the Pakistan team has performed well in India and that is most important”, he said.

Shoaib was ready to turn out in the forthcoming national One-day cup starting from Sunday to prove his fitness.

“Yes I would like to play the matches in the trophy as I want to prove my fitness”, he said.

The controversial paceman denied allegations that he was an undisciplined player and claimed that his aggressive attitude was due to being a fast bowler and that might have been sending wrong signals to the others”.
