KARACHI, March 30: Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) is set to launch Pakistan Youth (Under-17) Games at Islamabad next year. A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting held in the capital in last weekend.

Chaired by the director general, PSB, Brig Arif Mahmood Siddiqui, the meeting was attended by directors of the four provincial sports boards.

The games, to be held for both boys and girls, will be held in the following disciplines:

Boys: Athletics, basketball, football, hockey, volleyball, tae kwon do, badminton, table tennis, boxing and swimming.

Girls: Athletics, hockey, tae kwon do, badminton, table tennis and swimming.

The director, Sindh Sports Board, Ghulam Akbar Shah Bokhari, who returned here after attending the meeting, said on Wednesday that as the sports ministry objected to the proposed estimated budget, it was decided to resubmit the same after curtailing some of the expenses.

It may be recalled that the games are designed on the pattern of Bhutto Youth Festival that was held only once at Islamabad in 1976 in five disciplines.
