NAWABSHAH, May 30: The district council condemned the attitude of India at its 10th session held here at the Pir Qurban Ali Hall under the chairmanship of the convener of the council, Khalid Hussain Channa.

The executive district officer (education) informed the council that there were 205 closed schools in the district which would be made functional after summer vacations.

It was also decided that two workers of the district council and 2 members of the council would be sent for Hajj every year on the expenses of the council.

AXED TO DEATH: A teenage girl and a man were axed to death on the pretext of Karo-kari in Ali Mohammad Jamali village near Bandhi on Thursday.

Ms Rani, 18, was axed to death by her brothers, Waryam and Manzoor Jamali, and a relative, Abdul Khaliq Jamali, in her house.

After killing the girl, the men went to the guest house of Gulzar Jamali and killed Liaquat Ali Jamali, 22, in the same way.

Sources said that the girl and the man were supposed to be married in a few days.

Meanwhile Imamzadi, 25, was axed to death by her husband, Yaqoob Junejo, in Mitho Mari village near Qazi Ahmed on Thursday.

BREACH IN CANAL: A 150-foot wide breach occurred in Shahbaz Minor at RD-1 on Thursday night which inundated agriculture land and damaged standing crops, reports APP.
