SUKKUR, March 22: The record keeper of the Rohri civil court was killed when some explosives went off in the court’s record room on Monday.

The record keeper, Zulfiqar Chandio, had gone to the record room to get a pistol seized by police on the order of civil judge Samina Memon, who was hearing a case of 13-D, Arms Ordinance. When Mr Chandio lit a match as there was no electricity, the explosives kept in the record room exploded. The record room collapsed and Mr Chandio was buried under the debris.

The civil judge has ordered an inquiry into the matter.

DPO Abdullah Shah termed it an incident and said the explosives had been kept there without observing precautions.

Woman killed: A woman was shot dead by her relative on the pretext of karo-kari in the Manjoo Chandio village, Tando Masti police station jurisdiction, Khairpur, on Sunday night.

Dhani Bux, allegedly killed Gulshan, who was expecting.

The woman’s husband, Mohammad Aslam Chandio, told journalists that Dhani Bux had committed the murder to occupy his land.

However, no FIR was registered till the filing of this report.
