MIANWALI, March 19: A youth allegedly murdered his mother and sister on suspicion of bad character at Shadia village, 30 kilometres from here, on Saturday. According to police Mushtaq, 18, suspected that his mother Noor Bhari and 16-year-old sister Nasreen had loose morals. On Friday, both the women went for shopping to a nearby village. Mushtaq intercepted them outside and axed them to death. Police have registered a case on the complaint of Mushtaq’s father Aslam. Honour killings are very common in this rigid and illiterate society because the ‘killers’ are given the status of a hero and hardly any killer was awarded imprisonment sentence.
