PESHAWAR, March 3: The Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) has assured the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) of financial and logistic support for a trade fair the chamber is planning to organize in May.

A SCCI spokesman said the assurance was given during a meeting between EPB Director-General Shujauddin Siddiqui and former SCCI president Sarwar Khan Mohmand who heads the chamber's special committee constituted for organizing the 'Rebuild Afghanistan Trade Fair' to be held in May, says a press release issued here on Thursday.

The trade fair is being held to facilitate businessmen associated with the construction industry by informing them about growing opportunities in Afghanistan in the wake of reconstruction activities the press release added.

The EPB DG was briefed about the trade fair and activities the SCCI was planning to hold to make the event a success. The EPB chief appreciated the SCCI move and expressed the hope that the fair would help promote business ties between the two countries and enable the NWFP's business community to take advantage of the growing Afghan market, the press release added.
