ISLAMABAD, March 1: Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Khan has been promoted to the rank of air marshal, says a notification issued by the defence ministry.

Air Marshal Aurangzeb Khan was commissioned in the Pakistan Air Force on November 11, 1973, in the flying branch. He is a graduate of Flying Instructors School, Combat Commanders School, Air War College and National Defence College. He has commanded a fighters squadron, a fighters wing and an operational base.

His staff appointments include Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Flight Safety) at Air Headquarters and Directing Staff (Air), War Wing, National Defence College. Air Marshal Aurangzeb had also been Air Officer Commanding of PAF Academy Risalpur.

Presently, he is serving as the chairman of Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Board, Kamra, since June 2002. He is recipient of Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military).
