BAHAWALPUR, March 1: People from all walks of life, including traders, have resented the fresh increase in the prices of petroleum products.

Launching a protest in Bahawalpur on Tuesday, the generality of people and transporters attributed the raise to the poor government policies.

They said the government's claims of the revival of economy were false, as prices of essential commodities shot up due to increase in petroleum prices during the last few months.

Some people complained that drivers of public transports, including rickshaws and taxis, had started charging high fare. Transporters also dropped a hint that they would increase the fare of buses, wagons and AC coaches running on all the intra- and inter-city routes.
