KOHAT, Feb 23: The central leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami has allowed its followers who aspire to contest local bodies elections to form alliances with any political party, including ANP, PPP or PML-N, but give preference to the component parties of MMA.

Senator Professor Ibraheem made this announcement at a party meeting held in the JI local office on Wednesday. He said that the Al-Khidmat Group (of JI) should make seat adjustments with other groups who nominate pious and honest people.

He said JI's followers should discourage corrupt people. He asked divisional leaders of JI to be ready to launch a massive agitation movement against the government for which call would be given any time.

He said that the MMA and the ARD had decided to hold million marches because the rulers had become front line partners of the west to harm Islamic states and had sold sovereignty of the state for personal interests.

To a question about the government-PPP deal, he said that both had similar anti Islam views, as far as the foreign policy was concerned, but the MMA and the ARD had joined hands to rid the country of an unconstitutional president and to stop further victimisation of political leaders and smaller provinces.

He expressed his regret over the fact that the people of Pakistan had no access to justice, law and order in the country was worsening and half the population was living under poverty line.
