HYDERABAD, Feb 22: The investigation police have arrested three suspects, including Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz leader Asghar Shah from Karachi in connection with the ongoing investigation into bomb explosions cases.

Reliable investigation police sources said the identity of other two accused could not be known but they were arrested in the Defence area of Karachi by a team of the Hyderabad investigation officials.

SP investigation Pir Fareed Jan Sarhandi and sub-inspector Zulfikar Arain led the police team. Talking to this correspondent, Mr Arain denied having arrested suspects and said that any such information could be confirmed or denied by the SP investigation. The SP was not available for confirmation of the news.

The investigation wing had arrested Fayyaz Janwari and Samiullah Kalhoro in November last for their alleged involvement in bomb explosions. The brother of Mr Kalhoro, Hujatullah Abbasi, filed a constitutional petition, seeking recovery of his brother. The petition was fixed for hearing as comments by the police had been filed, denying arrests of suspects. The petitioner's counsel sought time to file rejoinder.

About ten days back Samiullah Kalhoro and Fayaz Janwari managed to escape from the Hala police station where they were kept for interrogation by investigation officials. A police source said that both the suspects had revealed the name of Asghar Shah that's why he had been arrested.
