SANGHAR, Feb 21: The Hesco authorities have restored power supply to some of the villages where power cables were stolen on Saturday night.

The thieves had cut the high tension power supply line from the Jalal Mari village to the Lal Bux waterway in the jurisdiction of Hesco Tando Adam sub-division-I. As a result, more than 70 villages plunged into darkness. Hesco officials along with the taluka police started tracking thieves with the help of sniffer dogs but in vain.

It may be recalled that a month ago the thieves had stolen wires from Ahmed Buriro village to Thaheem colony of Tando Adam town. It is distance of about five kilometres. The Hesco had restored power supply through an abandoned (old) transmission line.

KILLED: A woman was killed by her husband in Chak-61 village due to some domestic dispute. Leemo Bugti hacked his wife, Pathani, 25, and fled. The Mangli police arrested the accused and recovered the hatchet used in the crime. The body was shifted to the civil hospital on Monday for post-mortem.

KILLED: A man, Pervez Masih, 32, died due to severe cold on Monday. The deceased used to sleep at the main gate of St. Saul Church, Sanghar.
