HYDERABAD: Two killed in accident

HYDERABAD, Feb 19: Two people were killed and five others injured in a road accident near Jamshoro on Friday night. A van (PE-1399) on its way to Karachi when reached near Jamshoro collided head-on with a tractor-trolley.

The occupants were members of a same family from North Nazimabad and returning from Sehwan. Those killed were identified as Mohammad Haneef, son of Mohammad Zaman, 60, and Ghulam Sajjad alias Ulfat Hussain. The injured - Kulsoom, Waseem Akhtar, Shahid Hussain, Allah Dino and Arshad - were shifted to the Hyderabad Civil Hospital.

FIRE: A fire broke out in a gas cylinder shop at the general bus stand on Saturday. As a result shop owner Asif received burn injuries and was admitted to the burns ward of the civil hospital.

The fire broke out when a customer lit a match. It led to explosions in the shop as cylinders exploded one after the other. The fire destroyed the shop. Fire fighters said around 100 cylinders were had been destroyed and only four to five were taken out of the shop. Doctors said Asif suffered 80 per cent burn wounds but he was out of danger because wounds were not deep.
