LAHORE, Feb 18: Wapda will establish 50-bed hospitals in all big cities by the end of June this year and give its employees the option of availing the medical facilities or drawing a medical allowance at the rate of Rs375 per month.

A decision to this effect was taken at a bipartite meeting held between Wapda Chairman and members, and the Pakistan Wapda Hydro-Electric Central Labour Union here on Friday.

The authority also agreed to pay construction allowance of Rs200 per month to the General Grid System Construction Staff and increase the group insurance payable to linesmen of grade I and II and grid staff, besides establishment of schools for the children of employees at Chashma and Ghazi Barotha Hydel Power Projects and Jamshoro Thermal Powerhouse.
