KHAIRPUR, Feb 17: People's Party Parliamentarians MNA Syed Fazal Shah Jilani has said that party workers will be given preference for awarding tickets in the local bodies' elections.

Speaking at a party workers' gathering in Sobhodero on Thursday, he said those who changed their loyalties would not be accepted in the party. He said such elements after falling prey to lotacracy could not achieve any political position.

He said that PPP candidates would return successful if free and fair elections were held. He said Gen Musharraf's regime had created poor law and order situation, price hike and unemployment.

He said that merit would not gain ground in selection of jobs announced by the government. He said that PPP workers in Khairpur district had bravely faced political victimization.

ILLEGAL DETENTION: Leaders of the Shia Rabita Council Khairpur, Ali Abbas and Syed Abdul Hassan Najafi, have alleged that a Shia leader, Syed Mohammad Abbas Hussaini, is in illegal detention of intelligence agencies over the past three months.

Talking to journalists here on Sunday, they said that the mother of Mr Hussaini had approached the B-section police for his son's recovery but he had not been produced in a court.
