ISLAMABAD, Feb 13: PML Central Vice-President Syed Kabir Ali Wasti has criticized certain elements who are trying to destabilize the Jam Yousaf Ali's government at a time when the province is already confronting a crisis situation.

According to a press release issued here on Sunday, the PML leader said Jam Yousaf Ali enjoyed full confidence of President Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and PML President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.

He said President Musharraf and the PML chief were doing their best to find a political solution to the crisis. There are, however, certain elements who want to aggravate the situation by calling for dismissal of the Balochistan government, he added.

Mr Wasti said the chief minister was controlling the province with competence and farsightedness. He has to maintain a delicate balance among different political forces and keep the coalition intact, he added.

He criticized Balochistan Governor Owais Ghani for making provocative and uncalled for statements. He said the governor was already a controversial figure. The Baloch nationalists and other political forces feel grieved that Balochistan is the only province in the country which has an outsider as governor.

Mr Ghani should, therefore, desist from unnecessary intervention in governance, he added. The PML leader appreciated the keen interest being taken by President Musharraf in solving the problems of the people of Balochistan.

He said the president was going to announce the promised economic and constitutional package for Balochistan to address the grievances of the neglected province soon.
