Aziz, Oglo agree to activate OIC

ISLAMABAD, Feb 3: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) Ekmeluddin Ihsan Oglo on Thursday said that the OIC needed to be rejuvenated and reactivated to meet the challenges posed to the Muslim world.

Speaking to the press after their 45-minute meeting, they agreed that there was a need for injecting fresh blood into the OIC so that it could project peace and interfaith harmony which is the true face of Islam.

About his talks with the secretary-general, the prime minister said, "We have had extensive talks on challenges that the Muslim Ummah was facing today and discussed ways and means to get out of the situation."
