MIRPURKHAS, Feb 3: The district judicial magistrate-1, Noshad Mughal, on Thursday remanded four policemen in police custody for five days in connection with a custodial death.

The policemen are Satellite Town police station SHO Mohammad Rafiq Siyal, SI Khamiso Khan, ASI Ghulam Shabbir Dasti and constable Mohammad Aslam. They were booked in the case following the death of Abu Bakar Panwhar in police custody on Jan 25.

Meanwhile, the Satellite Town police arrested People's Party Parliamentarians workers Mohammad Mushtaq and Ismail Panwhar on Thursday for creating law and order problem and damaging government and private property during protests following the custodial death.

FERTILIZERS: The district officer, agriculture extension, Riaz Ahmad Dayo, has said of 91 samples of pesticides and 72 of different fertilizers sent for laboratory tests last year, nine samples of pesticides and two of fertilizers were found substandard. In a statement issued here on Wednesday, he said the agriculture department had lodged cases in this regard at different police stations.
