LAHORE: Stray bullet kills minor girl

LAHORE, Feb 1: A minor girl was killed and another sustained injuries when stray bullets hit them at a wedding ceremony at Jallo village, Batapur on Tuesday.

Police said relatives and friends resorted to aerial firing at the marriage function of Zulfikar Ahmad.

Mehdi Hasan's daughters Amna (12) and Aaisha (10) were standing at the rooftop of their house when they sustained bullet wounds. They both were rushed to a nearby hospital where Amna died. The body was returned to the family without autopsy. A murder case was registered against the groom and eight of his relatives and friends.

FOUR KILLED: Four people were killed and six others sustained injuries in four accidents in the city on Tuesday. Atya Afzal (35) was killed and six other passengers injured when a truck rammed into a bus in Naseerabad.

The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital in a critical condition. Ms Farzana (25) was crossing a road when a motorcycle hit her in Shahdara. She died on way to hospital.

Nizar Ali (27) was killed when a van hit him in Hanjarwal while motorcyclist Bahadur Ali (21) was run over and killed by a trailer in Chuhng. The bodies have been handed over to the respective families without autopsy. Cases have been registered against the absconding drivers.
