LAHORE, Feb 1: The district Nazim has said only the mechanical swings and joyrides conforming to international safety standards and certified by the authorized inspection company would be allowed to operate.

Speaking after watching the presentations made by three safety inspection companies at Jinnah Hall here on Tuesday for pre-qualification for authorization for inspection and certification of swings, Nazim Mian Aamer said the owners would also be required to make arrangements for inspections of swings and joyrides after every operation to eliminate the chances of accidents.

Inspectest was pre-qualified to inspect the mechanical joyrides and swings in the city district after notification. The Nazim thanked the University of Engineering and Technology for advice and assistance for the selection of an inspection company.

Engineering University's Prof Dr Faizul Hasan said the mechanical swings and joyrides would be issued two types of safety certificates after inspections by the company. Owners of recreation parks, EDO (works), LDA director (administration) and DO (electrical and mechanical) were present at the briefing.
