ISLAMABAD, Jan 31: The anti-government campaign of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) is peaceful and in conformity with democratic principles.

This was stated by the members of an MMA delegation while talking to a two-member team of the Commonwealth's political division here on Monday.

The MMA delegation comprised senators Prof Khursheed Ahmed, Mian Mohammad Hussain, MNA Mian Mohammad Aslam and Abdul Jalil Naqvi, while the Commonwealth team comprised Matthew F. K. Neuhaus and Musharrafuddin.

The MMA leaders said the primary objective behind the campaign of the religious parties' alliance was to end the role of military in politics and to ensure restoration of democracy.
