SAHIWAL, Jan 27: A woman was electrocuted while six members of a family sustained injuries as the roof of their house collapsed here on Thursday in rain-related incidents.

Reports said rain disrupted electricity and telephone network. It started at 4am on Thursday morning and continued at intervals. Electricity remained suspended for hours in Farid Town, Scheme No.3, Ramay Town, Jahaz Ground, Jhal Road and many other areas.

In Basti Bashiran, Kubra w/o Siraj Din was electrocuted when she inadvertently touched a live wire. In Rangshah village, Sultan, his wife Sughra and children Iqbal, Shaukat, Robina and Sakeena sustained injuries when the roof of their house caved in.

RELEASE ORDERS: The district & sessions judge visited the central Jail here on Wednesday and issued release orders of 35 under-trial prisoners involved in petty cases on personal bail bonds.
