LAHORE, Oct 28: Pakistan Muslim League (QA) president Mian Muhammad Azhar on Sunday urged the government to make efforts for cessation of bombardment on Afghanistan and rehabilitation of its people.

He was addressing a reception at the residence of Shadbagh Nazim Shahid Munir. The function was also attended by district Nazim Mian Aamir Mehmood, Naib Nazim Farooq Amjad Mir and union council Nazims Afzal Bholla, Iftikhar Chaudhry, Ilyas Usman, Malik Nawaz, Mian Atiq, Ghulam Nabi and Tahir Kardar.

He said that the US forces had no justification for extending their operation against terrorism to civilian localities, villages, mosques and public transport facilities. He said the US administration had failed to achieve its objectives after three weeks of bombardment. He said the situation supported his contention that it was impossible to fight terrorism with terrorism. He said the administration should try to investigate the motives of Sept 11 incidents instead of continuing with air strikes.
