KARACHI: KU youth convention

KARACHI, Jan 24: The University of Karachi will organize a two-day "Youth Convention" for students on Feb 2 and 3, it was learnt officially. The convention is being sponsored by the Higher Education Commission.

The students selected after the competition would be sent to Islamabad for the last round of a series of conventions. Such conventions were also held last year.

According to a KU communication, the Sindh Provincial Youth Convention will be held at the arts auditorium of the university from 9am to 5.30pm. Inauguration ceremony will be held at 9am on Feb 2.

CONVOCATION: The registrar, Karachi University, Prof Syed Sikandar Mehdi, has announced that the annual convocation of the regular students (Morning and Evening) is expected to be held between Feb 26 and March 5, at the varsity campus.

The degrees would be awarded to the students who had passed Bachelors (hons), Masters, B. Pharmacy in 2002, 2003 and 2004 under Morning Programme and during 1997-2004 under Evening Programme, and to those who had done MS, MD, MPhil, PhD, DLitt, DSc from 2003 onward, he said.

He further said those students who had yet not received their degrees should apply for registration for the convocation on prescribed application forms available at the Convocation Camp Office, Silver Jubilee Gate No.1, from Monday, Jan 24 to Feb 4.
